re you in doubt about which saving product is best for you or when to start planning for retirement? You want to apply for your first loan and don't know where to start? Do you know the precautions to take when making a payment on the Internet? Would you like to be able to manage your family budget better?

To find out about this and much more, come and learn about accounts in the APB's Saber de Contas new financial literacy website, where we have put together for you useful information and some tips that will help you better understand some of the more complex issues related to credit, savings, investment, over-indebtedness, digital security, means of payment, among others.

Available at www.saberdecontas.pt, this project essentially targets young people, bank customers and the senior population, and its main concern is to increase and improve their financial knowledge and help them make better informed and responsible decisions in the day-to-day management of their accounts.

"The APB's financial education project was created in 2011 and, after ten years of field work, our assessment is very positive. We believe that now is the time to reposition the project with a new name, a new image and new content, whereby we seek to achieve greater scale and reach out more effectively to the audiences we want to reach," says Rita Machado, head of the APB project.

The new website will be officially presented  on 31st May, at 10am, in the Culturgest Small Auditorium, in Lisbon, and will be attended by the Chairman of the APB, Vítor Bento, the Vice-Governor of the Bank of Portugal, Luís Máximo dos Santos, and the Minister of Education, João Costa (see programme).

"We believe that all the work we have been developing in recent years, underpinned by a joint effort of the Portuguese banking sector, will have already produced some results but we surely need to do even more and better, as we believe that only with greater and better levels of financial literacy will it also be possible to have a more resilient banking system."

"Saber de Contas" will also be on Facebook and Instagram, where the different target audiences will be able to follow the latest articles and tips, test their financial knowledge and learn about different topics through video tutorials.
