3rd October, 2019

More than 150 clients from all over the country attended the information sessions organised by the CMVM at bank branches, as part of the second edition of the Banking sector’s Open Day.

These sessions took place on 2 October in seven different locations (Braga, Coimbra, Fatima, Lisboa, Porto, Santarém and Viseu) and in the branches of eight banking institutions (Ativo Bank, Banco Montepio, BPI, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Crédito Agrícola, Eurobic, Novo Banco and Santander)

This year's Open Day theme was "Come talk to the CMVM about good investment practices." For an hour, the clients listened to the capital market regulator's advice and tips on informed and responsible investing and they had the opportunity to clarify doubts. The investor profile, the importance of diversification or the costs associated with the investment were some of the subjects discussed.

The banking sector Open Day is jointly organised by the CMVM and APB and is part of the celebrations of World Investor Week, which is organised every year by IOSCO. This week's main objective is to raise awareness of the importance of financial education and investor protection.

As part of its financial education project, APB considers that it is this type of initiative that enables investors to be more and better informed and, consequently, to help them decide responsibly.
