The Portuguese Banking Association (APB), along with its Bank Training Institute (IFB) and School of Bank Management (ISGB) ,will be offering two places for journalists in each ISGB post-graduate course as part of its Bank Financial Literacy Programme, as of the start of this academic year.

Journalists who usually write about financial matters in the Portuguese media and have knowledge and experience of the matters in question can apply to take these courses.

The candidates selected by the APB and ISGB can enrol and attend the post-graduate courses free of charge.

This initiative is part of a journalist training programme that began in 2010. The aim of the APB and ISGB is to help journalists achieve greater financial specialisation and therefore improve the quality of the information given to the general public.

Due to the growing need for information on the part of the media, the development of the financial sector and more sophisticated markets, the APB, IFB and ISGB have set up a number of courses to meet journalists' needs for information on certain areas and subjects in the sector , thereby helping them to better understand and interpret financial and banking matters in Portugal.
