The Portuguese Banking Association (APB) is once again joining forces with World Investor Week (WIW), a global initiative promoted by the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), which runs from 6 to 10 October.
The 9th edition of SMI will take place in 2025, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of financial education and investor protection, contributing to more informed decisions by citizens. APB has participated in this initiative since its first edition, thus reinforcing its long-term commitment to financial literacy in Portugal.
As part of the national programme coordinated by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), several information sessions will be organised, both in person and broadcast online, on topics that are essential for investors. The APB will be present at the session dedicated to the banking sector, together with the Bank of Portugal, which will take place on 7 October, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., in the CMVM auditorium and broadcast digitally.
This session will address topics such as:
‘For the APB, it is essential to help ensure that all citizens have access to clear and useful information about how the financial sector works, so that they can make more informed and secure decisions. The full WIS programme is available on the CMVM website and all sessions can be followed online, upon registration.
