APB congratulates Net-Zero Banking Alliance fot its 1st anniversary

On 21 April 2022, the Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) marks its first anniversary. In just one year, the Alliance has seen tremendous growth: more than 100 banks have joined and committed to decarbonizing their lending and investing activities by 2050.

To mark the occasion, the Alliance released its Vision for Change statement, which presents the Alliance’s approach to the net-zero transition within the banking sector.

As a supporting institution of NZBA, the Portuguese Banking Association (APB) fully agrees with the objectives of the UN-convened Net-Zero Banking Alliance and the incorporation of environmental and sustainability criteria in the financial sector activity with a view to achieving a carbon neutral economy by 2050.
