APB and Palácio das Galveias Municipal Library organise financial education courses

The Portuguese Banking Association is organising financial education courses in a joint initiative with Palácio das Galveias Municipal Library from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 7, 14, 21 and 28 May. Financial education classes for the general public will be launched in May as part of the APB's Financial Education Programme. These courses will take place at Palácio das Galveias Municipal Library in Lisbon from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 7, 14, 21 and 28 May.

The main aim of these lectures is to help the general public learn more about financial matters and may enable them to make better informed decisions. They will also encourage the public to develop essential lifelong learning skills, as mentioned in the European Frame of Reference.

The subjects of the classes are as follows:

  •  Session 1 – 7 May, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

   Planning and managing the household budget, loans and borrowing

  •  Session 2 - 14 May, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

   Remuneration and interest rates, capitalization schemes;

  •  Session 3 - 21 May, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  The financial system and financial products (basic principles);

  •  Session 4 - 28 May, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

   Bank deposits, guaranteeing deposits, types of deposits;

 

The classes will be held at the Galveias Library (Campo Pequeno, Lisbon) and will be given by lecturers from Instituto Superior de Gestão Bancária.
