The Portuguese Banking Association (APB) has reformulated the image of the www.apb.pt website to make all its information areas more prominent and make it easier to view and browse.

The APB website is intended to inform and educate the public on the banks' role in the economy and foster a closer relationship between the banking sector and society.

The homepage highlights the main APB headlines and news. Here visitors have immediate access to the network of bank branches in Portugal and the website's seven main areas: the APB, Members, Financial System, Learning about Banking, Studies and Publications, Financial Education and Press Room.

Site development

The website and new layout were developed by the WayNext web agency (www.waynext.com) and is line with the new trends and best practices in internet use.

It has a back office for regular content management.

The website's technical architecture uses PHP as a programming language and MySQL for data support. It has been optimised for a resolution of 1024 x 768 px. The quality of production ensures that the website will work well and look good in the most popular browsers.

The website's design complies with the W3C Consortium's Level 1 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to increase access to information via different devices and also accommodate users with special needs.

This reformulation of the APB's online presence reflects its new approach of greater proximity and a more involved role in society.
