Taking the Portuguese economy to the economic and financial decision makers in a global world.

Portugal Economy Probe (PE Probe) is a website that provides a wealth of factual, reliable information about the Portuguese economy in an unrivalled bilingual collection of reports, facts, figures and statistics.

PE Probe is not for commercial use and is now available in Portuguese, due to preference for the language in countries like Brazil and Angola, plus a growing interest in the Portuguese economy there.

The new PE Probe is fast and user-friendly and provides easy access to an abundance of up-to-date information from 235 Portuguese and international sources.

The Portugal Economy Probe was introduced two years ago on the initiative of civil society with funding from important institutions in different sectors of the Portuguese economy and enjoys the high patronage of the President of Portugal.Originally, its central purpose was to change the negative perception that the international financial markets had of Portugal when it requested a financial bailout. Meanwhile it has proved to be an essential tool for providing factual information about the Portuguese economy.

While its target audience is experts who analyse and operate the Portuguese economy, PE Probe has proved extremely useful to a number of audiences, such as financial market managers and deciders, embassies and consulates all over the world, journalists and economics and management teachers and students.

“In spite of the excellent reception that the website enjoyed right from the start with a community of over 95,000 users all over the world, 62% of whom are foreign, we believe that the new PE Probe will provide its users with fast, intuitive access to information about the Portuguese economy from 235 reliable Portuguese and international sources," said Miguel Athayde Marques, PE Probe's mentor and coordinator. He added that the existence of a Portuguese version would make it easier to use for Portuguese managers and foreign Portuguese speakers, many of them in burgeoning economies.
