24th November, 2011

28 and 29 November 2011 - The APB and IFB are organising courses for Portuguese journalists so that they will be better able to understand and interpret financial and banking matters in Portugal.

Due to the financial sector's importance in the economy, the greater sophistication, specificity and complexity of the markets and a growing need for information on these matters on the part of the media, the APB decided to organise short-term courses at convenient times to help journalists learn more about the sector. The courses can be attended by freelance journalists or those working for a media outlet.

~The Financial Analysis of a Balance Sheet course was attended by around 60 journalists. The same course will be given to the journalists of the Lusa press agency in Lisbon on 28 and 29 November.

These courses are part of the Bank Financial Literacy Programme and are usually short and at convenient times.

They are free and can be attended by freelance journalists or those working for a media outlet.
