More than one hundred and fifty bank clients from all over the country attended the information sessions organised by the CMVM at bank branches, as part of the second edition of the Banking Open Day.

These sessions were held on 2 October in seven different locations (Braga, Coimbra, Fátima, Lisbon, Porto, Santarém and Viseu) at the branches of eight banks (Ativo Bank, Banco Montepio, BPI, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Crédito Agrícola, Eurobic, Novo Banco and Santander).

This year the theme of the Open Day was "Come and talk to CMVM about good investment practices" For one hour, the clients who attended the session could hear advice and tips from the capital market regulator on informed and responsible investment and had the opportunity to clarify doubts. The profile of the investor, the importance of diversification or the costs associated to investment were some of the subjects discussed.

The Banking Open Day is an initiative jointly organised by CMVM and APB as part of the commemorations of the World Investor Week, which is organised every year by IOSCO, with the main purpose of promoting awareness to the importance of financial education and investor protection.

As an entity committed to promoting financial literacy, the APB believes that it is with this type of initiative that we will have more enlightened and informed investors, with the ability to decide responsibly.
